Ms. Marsha "Marty" D. Jackson, M.Ed. Licensed Masters Social Worker & Licensed Professional Counselor

Marty received her Masters of Education in Community Counseling from Winthrop University in 1986. She also received training from the Center for Family Theory and Therapy in Columbia, SC. She has worked in a residential group home for teenage girls and a government agency, researching human and community mental health. She practices as a Professional Licensed Counselor and a Licensed Master Social Worker, working at the Saluda Center since 1990. 
Marsha enjoys working with adults and older adolescents and has a particular fondness in relationship issues with couples and families.  Her treatment areas of interest are depression, anxiety, women’s issues and stress management. Treatment modalities include family systems theory and cognitive-behavioral as well as relaxation therapy. She is a life long resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina and is married with two adult children and one grand-puppy. 

 
 

 

Ms. Michelle "Missy" A. Whitley, M.Ed. Licensed Professional Counselor

Missy received her Masters in Counseling from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois in 1991.  Her B.S. was received from Eastern Illinois University at Charleston, Illinois in 1987. Missy has 16 years of counseling experience assisting children, adolescents and adults in the community mental health center and private practice.  She holds accreditations as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults.  Her treatment areas of interest include anxiety, depression, women’s issues, eating disorders, as well as child and adolescent behavioral issues. Missy is married and has two children.

 
 

 

 
 

 

Ms. Susan H. Bullard, MSW Licensed Independent Social Worker

Susan received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. Previous experience includes Summit House, Catawba Care Coalition, and Safe Passage. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Her areas of interest include anxiety, child abuse, depression, domestic violence, grief/loss, and sexual trauma. Susan is certified in the Triple P-Positive Parenting Program. She believes in an empowerment approach to therapy and uses a variety of treatment modalities to meet client needs. Susan has experience with children, adolescents, and adults. She volunteers with IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) and RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network).

 
 
 

Ms. Beverly Holbrook, MSW Licensed Masters Social Worker

 

Beverly attended Winthrop University where she earned both her Bachelors and her Masters degrees in social work.  Beverly has a special fondness for working with people, no matter their age or their background. The treatment areas of interest include, but are not limited to, child and family issues, anxiety, depression, behavioral, grief and loss, sexual trauma and life transitions.  Beverly uses Family Systems Theory and Crisis Intervention to provide both individual and family therapy.Previous experience includes working within schools to provide support services and therapy for students, working within a local residential home providing therapy to children who have suffered victimization, molestation, neglect and/or abandonment.  She has also worked with terminally ill patients and their families in a local hospice agency.  In addition to this work, she has also served for more than 10 years as a volunteer member of the pastoral care team at a local church providing counseling and support services for the community as a ministry.

Beverly has been married for 25 years and has two children, 21 and 17.

 
 

 

Ms. Andrea Washo,  MSW Licensed Independent Social Worker

Andrea received her Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University. Prior to coming to the Saluda Center, she worked at a community mental

health agency in NC doing outpatient emergency services. She enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples and

has particular treatment interests in depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues.

 
 


 
 

Mr. Mark Meachem, MSW Licensed Independent Social Worker

Mark received his BA from Williams College in 1976. He left a career in business to earn a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina College of Social Work. Mark is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. His practice focuses on the unique needs of young people ages 12-18, and their families. Adolescence is an enormously important life stage, during which identity and existential questions often arise. Concerns for youth may include: Adjustment to changes in family structure, educational/environmental stressors, and difficulties in peer or family relationships. Young people may also experience problems with focus or impulsivity, anxiety, depression or mood regulation, including anger. Mark has worked with young people in educational settings, including mainstream and alternative middle/high schools. He has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which emphasizes the influence of thoughts and core beliefs on emotions and behavior. Mark utilizes a collaborative approach to work with youth and their family systems.

 
     
 

Ms. Anne "Annie" Roseman, MSW Licensed Independent Social Worker

Annie received her Bachelor’s degree from Long Island University with a focus in psychology and her Master’s in social work from Adelphi University in New York. She holds licenses as a clinical social worker in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She has worked in a variety of settings including a day treatment program for adults and adolescents, a residential facility and has worked at a community mental health center. Annie believes that therapy is very personal and her work with clients is based on her respect for the unique problems and concerns that each person brings to treatment. The intent of her therapy is to provide a dynamic and affirming environment where self-discovery is encouraged. Therapy is a personal and unique way of telling your own story. The goal of therapy is to enhance your life by providing the tools to discover your true self. Once you've discovered who you are, therapy then arms you with the skills to face challenges, make wise decisions and discover who you are meant to be. Annie enjoys working with adolescents and adults using strengths based therapy.

Martha Beahm, D.Min., Ed.S.

 

Martha is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who presently serves the Saluda Counseling Center (SCC) in Rock Hill, SC as their Interim Director in a part-time position, and has been with SCC since the retirement of their previous Director in July of 2012.  She has been a Mental Health Therapist in South Carolina since 2002, and previously has served in roles as Hospital and Hospice Chaplain, Health Educator and Pastor in her professional career. She has her Education Specialist in Counseling from the University of South Carolina, her Master of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, IN, and her Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from the Graduate Theological Foundation in Mishawaka, IN. Besides her current role as Interim Director, she is a mental health counselor for a counseling center in Lexington, SC and a life coach and trainer for leadership development and wellness for Pinnacle Leadership Associates, based out of Chapin, SC.

Dr. Hayne D. McMeekin, MD

Dr. McMeekin, is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. McMeekin's license is in General Adult Psychiatry with special interests in Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Anxiety Disorder. 

A South Carolina native, Dr. McMeekin received his undergraduate degree from Erskine College. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina, receiving a BS in Pharmacy in 1969 and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1973. He was commissioned by the United States Navy and completed his internship and psychiatric residency at the Naval Medical Centers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1982, Dr. McMeekin left the Navy with the rank of Commander and returned to South Carolina to begin treating clients in Rock Hill, SC.

 

 
 

 

 
 

Mildred "Millie" Hathaway, APRN

Millie received her Master's in Nursing degree from the University of South Carolina. She has also taken post- graduate courses at the University of Massachusetts. Millie is board certified as an advanced practice registered nurse in adult health. She is licensed to prescribe medications. Millie has practiced nursing for over thirty years. She has practiced in a variety of medical and psychiatric settings. She enjoys caring for adults with medical and psychiatric issues. Her clinical areas of interest include mood disorders, substance abuse, depression secondary to chronic disease and pain management. Millie utilizes the "holistic and caring models" when caring for her patients.
